Mars 2018 was a fun and engaging promotion taking place within the Tesco stores in conjunction with a new Mars’ products launch.

The activation process involved building a rapport with the customers as they were entering the store and offering them a chance to entertain themselves and test their knowledge by taking part to a sport/entertainment/news quiz; the majority of the people were intrigued and amused, and they really enjoyed it!

To their surprise, when customers answered all the 3 questions correctly, they won a £5 Tesco voucher to spend in store!

Most customers made immediate purchase of their favorite chocolate bars with t he £5 Tesco voucher!

I had a fairly complicate wooden display base and stand in my van, consisting of an interactive TV sets, remotely connected to the iPad that I was using to conduct the quiz from,  banners and cardboard displays. Customers were enticed to make purchase of the new range of Mars chocolates from the adjacent FSDU.

My role as EM comprised of:

Picking up the luton van, collect the kit and the stock, attend the “how to assemble it” briefing at the unit manufacturer’s facilities; Lease with the site manager in regards to where to position and how to conduct my promotion; Welcome and train my BA’s, oversee the event on behalf of the client and ensure that my Team is in the best form so to promote the brand as highlighted in the client’s briefing; take action and interaction photos, relate any issues or feedback to the client or to the agency, count and merchandise stock, acquire and analyze  sales figures, fill in the reports and send the images once at the hotel.

At the end of the day, I then de-rig the units, pack them safely and transport them overnight by van to the next location.
